I am growing cucumbers and they taste bitter. Why?

I didn't think they were growing, but they were hiding. I found 4 today, but they are gigantic. I sliced one up and it has a bitter taste.

It may be that they are just too old and you should have picked them when they were younger and smaller.  Try a smaller one and see how it is.  I'd pick it when it's a bit smaller than the ones you generally see in the grocery store.  You don't say what variety you have, so that may also have something to do with it.

Me thinkst they was thristy too much.  Or they may be sun-burned.   Try a younger (smaller one).

PS - try a little salt on them and let them sit a bit with the salt on.  Skin them also.
