The Russian defender has congratulated his former club upon winning the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena
Anzhi Makhachkala defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuri-Zhirkov-c37683, has hailed his former club, Chelsea FC, upon winning the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena for the first time in their history.
The English outfit managed to reach the finals after defeating defending Champions- http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 3-2 on aggregate.
Zhirkov, who was a spectator when Chelsea reached the Champions League finals against Manchester United in 2007-08, joined the English Premier League club for a whopping 13 million Euros in 2009.
Though, the Blues failed in their quest to win the European tournament at that time after suffering a heart breaking defeat at Luzhniki stadium, they made a lasting impact on Zhirkov.
However, Zhirkov returned to Russia after failing to impress in England. The former Spartak Tambov player failed to meet fans expectation after suffering recurring injuries during his stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Russian defender, who joined the Makhachkala-based club after leaving Chelsea in winter, heaped praise on the Blues after recording a spectacular performance against the Bavarians.
“They are a fantastic team defensively which can attack as well. They deserved to be crowned as the champions after several disappointing years in Europe. I can say that two top teams in Europe collided and one of them has won

The 28-year-old conceded that the Blues defeated a stubborn opposition despite playing without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Branislav-Ivanovic-c7994. The aforementioned players were suspended ahead of the European cup final
