Domenico Criscito has admitted that he is enjoying the Russian Premier League campaign and has urged his side to sign Italian players during the summer transfer window
Zenit St. Petersburg defender, Domenico Criscito, has expressed his satisfaction upon his recent performances, insisting that he will do anything possible to help the Russian outfit in the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign.
The Italian stopper, who moved to the St. Petersburg club from Genoa CFC last year, opened his goal-scoring account on Saturday, as Luciano Spalletti’s men romped past Dynamo Moscow after winning the latest league tie 2-0 at Petrovsky
stadium.
Criscito doubled his side’s advantage against the Dinamiki after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kerzhakov-c4569 had put Zenit in the driving seat. The former Juventus player scored his second goal for Zenit, against the same opposition, since making a move
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 last season.
“Yes, I'm happy. This is my second goal at Zenit. It was nice to score. This time it came out much more emotional. I dedicate this goal to my son. I think that the ball went exactly to the same spot as it ended up when I scored
against Dynamo last season. It was great fun to score another goal.” The prolific left-back was quoted as saying.
Zenit have now managed to claim six points from the opening two league ties against Amkar Perm and the Moscow-based club respectively. Criscito has assured the fans of maintaining balance in their performances by displaying similar
football.
Criscito went on to buck up his team-mates and has urged them to help their side retain the second league title under Spalletti, the manager, this season.
The 25-year-old, who has been one of the few key signings Spalletti has made over the course of his two-year long managerial spell at Petrovsky stadium, returned to full training after playing in the Euro 2012 final against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011
earlier this month.
With Kerzhakov seemingly interested in leaving the St. Petersburg club this summer, Zenit are eyeing Fiorentina’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Gilardino-c4324 as his potential replacement.
Commenting on the Italian striker's strengths, Criscito said: “Gilardino is an exceptionally striker who scores a lot of goals.
