I am assuming that they will leave a giant hole where the stump used to be, what is the best procedure to get some grass growing before the winter?? And is September a good time to plant grass?

I live in Massachusetts

  1. buy some top soil fill up the hole wait until all the leaves are down and racked up spread the seed  and wait until spring to enjoy the new grass it works for me here in CT

  2. Funny youshould ask this question, as I myself am in the same situation, they have already grinded out my tree stump tho. Did not leave a big hole tho. I purchased some "fall" grass seed and plan to plant that soon, will work up the soil some then rake seeds in the soil and water a couple x,s a week? Hope we both have grass next spring!
