My fiance and I are getting married on the Beach in Virginia Beach and then having a wedding reception 2 weeks later in our home town. How should we word the invitations for the reception?

  1. Name & name were married in a private ceremon on "date" at "location".  Please join us for a reception in their honour on "date" at "location".

    Or something along those lines.

    Good luck!

  2. "Jane Smith and John Jones would like to annouce their upcoming marriage which will take place at a private beach ceremony at Virginia Beach on September 24, 2008. Please join us to celebrate our marriage at a dinner reception on October 8, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. at the Community Center."

  3. We did not have to worry about the wordings for the wedding reception. Our wedding organiser, Singapore Hokkien Huey Kuen provided us with the wedding invitation cards. I got married in Feb 2008, mine was pretty simple and nice. By the way, I have only known my hubby for 1 yr 3 months 26 days.(since first encounter until now)

I paid for all the wedding expenses, so my last drawn salary of S$1300 pay(only) as a shipping clerk per month was spent mostly on our wedding, held with the Singapore Hokkien Huey Kuen, on the large framed up picture with a bridal shop(which has shifted), on the 2 sets of wardrobe done, and all other expenses. Total, I think I spent close to S$8,000.

  4. Put your names, the date and location you got married - and then the reception information - make sure at the end to put "No gifts, please" since they were not invited to the ceremony.

Marie (Johnson) and Ralph Smith were married August 15, 2008 in Virginia Beach. Please join us for a reception in their honour September 5, 2008

    5 p.m. Cocktails

    6 p.m. Dinner

    Dance to follow

    The Beautiful Ballroom

    123 Apple St.

    Anywhere, US

    No gifts, please

  5. Call it a Marriage Celebration and use the regular wording.

No need to put that you are already married...most everyone knows, right?
