I can never seem to be in that group of people.. the popular ones that crack jokes and all..

I mean I have friends... but Its just that it is so much easier for me to make friends with people who are older.. like seventeen and eighteen.. I am sixteen... I live in a small town of mexico.. I speak spanish very fluently and I certanly can write ver well in spanish...But my tastes are very diferent from them.. they like mexican music.. or a genre called regeton... meanwhile I like Jazz.. R&B.. and classical music.. I like to read about history... meanwhile.. they can nt even read 30.. 20 ... or a book a year! maybe they wont even read the page unless they have too!

I am in a new school this year.. since we are in a higher schooling level than last year of course. Its like a short High school were freshmen are older.. obviously because the grade you must enter "so called prepa" is 10th grade through 12th grade then you go to collage.. Now of course this school is for people with very good averages..

But .. you see all these years.. and belive me.. i have been with them a while.. And I have a sarcastic personality... wich is one of the caracteristics they like... you know as long as you are funny.. but... i dont know is there something wrong with me?

  1. The so called popular kids don't know how to be a true friend to anyone. This is not a group you want to get into. My daughter started getting to the edge of the popular group and she noticed that they only cared about how she looked and if she wore the right clothes. They were always wanting to change her instead of accepting her the way she was. They were not true friends.

It is much better to keep the friends you have and not worry about the popular group. They only look like they are doing well on the outside. When you become part of the group, you realize all they ever do is try to impress certain people while putting other people down. It is also way too easy to fall out of favor with the popular group, but your real friends will always be there for you.

So you have a choice, you can go for the popular crowd and not REALLY have friends, or you can have real friends who will be there for you no matter what and actually care about YOU and not what you dress like or if you are in fashion or not. For me, real friends are more important.

  2. theres nothing wrong with you dont worry. its not always good to be with the popular crowd. remember "its not the quantity but the quality of your friends". remember that. so just hang out with your friends and have fun in high school. make the most of it cuz you wont get the experience back. good luck!

  3. There's nothing wrong with you.  Consider it a good thing.  Once you get to college, you will fit right in.  You are too advanced for the average chumps at your school.  Be proud.

  4. Hey, I can relate to you so much...I moved from Colombia to U.S like five years ago...and something I really noticed was how people here are so much into being in the popular crowd or whatever

...it's actually really stupid...trying to fit in like that...I hated being here for a while...you know people faking who they are and being someone else...I'll just tell you to be yourself...know yourself.

There is nothing wrong with you...they just like regeton music..b/c I guess that's what most people are into this days...if you don't like that music is all right...it's ok to like classical and Jazz...hey I play the violin...and I like rock too...if you like those types of music if fine...your likes are part of who you are.

I know about people who just read because they have to...is like they just never really got into the "reading for pleasure" thing...I have a Mexican friend..he never really reads...at all...is actually kind of sad...like when there is a movie of the book, and they think the movie is so much better...they haven't even experienced what's it really like to be into a book...

    .hey just...be yourself...
