  1. it might be the "Y" connector that splits your in-line to your primary PC

i had a problem like that and ATT sent me a new splitter and poof, problem gone

  2. are you assigning IP addresses manually to each computer.  If you have, double-check that they are all unique (or set your router to automatically assign an IP address).  Your router should contain the public IP (that gets assigned by your ISP).  Your internal home network should be assigning (manually or automatically) IP #'s with something like 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2, etc.  (the 192.168 series are not used by websites, etc.  They are reserved for internal networks).

if all of these issues are set correctly, you may just have a defective router.

  3. Most likely it is the Router.  If you only have a cable modem or dsl modem with 4 port access, that could also be bad.  If you are using a Torrent program on one or all, that definitely will crash systems.

First, replace the hardware.  Second, put port forwarding IP addresses in your router if you are downloading a lot of bytes.

  4. Sounds like you need a new router ... i had the same issue about a month ago .. replaced it and now all is well.
