I am having a turquoise and white wedding. I think I want my bridesmaids to carry a single flower as I am on?

a very tight budget. I wouldnt mind if their flower was white but since I will be wearing a white dress I dont want my bouquet to blend with me. Anyways, what is a good flower to be carried by itself and what color flowers should I use in my bouquet, and what is a good cheap flower that could be used for the boutonnieres and corsages. I want to use real flowers.

  1. Well you could have white flowers with turquoise accents like a ribbon on the stems and little crystals in the flowers

for the single flowers and boutonnieres do a single white rose with a turquoise ribbon

all you would need to do is buy a inexpensive bouquet of white roses from a florist ot grocery store and do it yourself

  2. You can have a bouquet with lillies or orchids in it that will look AMAZING and then put in some splashes of color, such as blue sprayed flowers (daisies, carnations, etc) and some greenery (laurel or queen anne's lace).

Even though the flowers are white, they are not white enough to blend in with you dress, so don't worry. I've seen many bouquets with white flowers, lillies, and orchids and they look FABULOUS!

If you had your bridesmaids carry one single calla lily or orchid, I think that would look stunning against a turqouise dress (if you are using turquoise dresses).

Lillies and orchids are more expensive then daisies, roses, or carnations (or other flowers) but they are larger flowers so you do not need as many and they are one of the only flowers that can go great as a single (gerbera daisies and sunflowers are also good for this, but I don't know how they would look in/with turquoise). I think it would be cheaper and well worth it in the long run to use calla lillies or orchids.

For centerpieces, the alstromaria (peruvian lily) is a less-expensive flower and looks like a mini version of a calla lily, so you can use the bigger more expensive lilies/orchids in the bouquet and for bridesmaids and then have the alstromaria (which comes in a variety of colors too) as a centerpiece. Alstromaria would also make a cute corsage/boutenier, but so would just a single orchid or lily.

  3. You could use those big Gerber Daisies. They come in bright in colors, I don't think that they're turqoise, but you could pick another color that goes well. You could use white flowers in your bouquet.

  4. You could have them carry a single rose (white, pink, or yellow). They are quite expensive to buy in singles from florists but you could buy a bunch of roses from a supermarket or a rose farm and it would be very inexpensive.

Another option would be a calla lily which would look fantastic but I'm not sure about prices. Pink or white could look good.

    A single peony http://www.mydreamwedding.ca/uploads/Ima...

Or a large flower such as a sunflower, dahlia, gerbra, lily.

  5. you may choose a white rose or white carnation and have the florist tint the edges of the petals in turquoise...or a glittery silver if you prefer

  6. i had the same problem. what i did was to give my bridesmaids a single white Colombian rose (this is the long stemmed one with the big flower). then i had a small round bouquet of white roses that had accents of my other color which was gold.  my bouquet had gold beads and ribbons and fake gold leaves.  i think your color would work better since it's turquoise.

as long as you stick to single small roses for the boutonnières and corsages, it will be cheap.

  7. i would go with a lily if you want them to carry a single flower.  lillies stand out by themselves,

Also what about Lilliums.  They are cheap but attractive flowers

  9. your bouquet I say all white - or LOTS of colours.

    carnations are inexpensive & hardy.

rather than having bridesmaids carry blooms - what about greenery?

  10. If you want the maids to hold a single flower, I suggest a calla lili or white rose

I dont know much about flowers but I cant help try to help because I am also having a white and torquoise wedding, and I am not into flowers so I am not into breaking the bank here. I have decided to have very small posys made to look like they have just been picked on the way to the church.

I recieved a large bunch of flowers recently and couldnt help nnotice that they use these wee cheap white flowers to filll int he gaps of the bouquet, I personally think if clutched together would look very simple and pretty especially with a big ribbon attached (dont know their names) but you will know what im talking about when you visit the flower shop.

For me I would like a bit of colour and im stuck with these choices

off white with a hint of coral (peachy pink)

    creamy lemon

    light pink

heres some pics that I like

  11. Girl should hold a single white calla lilly, and you can have a turquoise hydrangea bouquet. or...

I like the bridesmaids should hold small bouquets of regular daisies,

Daisies are extremely cheap and adorable!
