  1. Attend physiotherapy clinic and take pain killers like ibubrufen or diclofenac sodium for a week.If there is no improvement then consult orthopaedic surgeon

  2. Massage your neck gently until the pain is manageable.

Then do some slow, gentle yoga for the neck. These exercises sound trivial, but they will help relax the neck muscles.

Sit or stand up straight, facing forward, with your head tilted as though the back of it is being suspended from the ceiling by a cord.

    1. Slowwwly tilt your head up until it doesn't go any farther back. Do not strain to do this. Just go back as far as you can manage. Hold for 3 seconds, breathing in and out while you're holding. Then slowwwly tilt it down until your chin is on your chest or as far down as you can do and hold again, breathing, for 3 seconds. Repeat this whole sequence two times.

    2. Still sitting or standing straight, facing forward, turn your head to the right as far as you can, slowwwly. Hold for 3 seconds, breathing, then turn slowwwly to the right, hold for 3, breathing. Then repeat 2 more times.

    3. Roll your head slowly, 3 times in one direction, then three times in the other direciton.

Ibuprofen is a muscle relaxant that you can buy over the counter. Take two.

See your doctor. Recurring muscle spasms mean something could be wrong. Could be stress, could be too much calcium, could be a disease. You just don't know, so call for an appointment.
