picutres, while our guest will go through the building into the reception hall. We will join them after the pics are taken. There will be no sit down dinner, just finger foods. so everyone will leave whenever they get ready. At what point will people need to blow the bubbles?

  1. Typically the groom and bride walk out of the church before people leave to go to the reception and that is when they can blow the bubbles!

  2. Why not save yourself the money and not do bubbles?

  3. After we walked down the aisle married, my husband and I went to a room off the entrance to the church.  Then all our guests exited the church and waited outside the main doors for us to make our exit as a married couple.  When we came out of the church, they started ringing the bells and everyone started blowing the bubbles.  We took a few minutes to chit chat with people and thank them for coming, then we started pictures.  Some people stuck around to watch, others left to get ready for the reception.

So really, you could do the same.  Except that instead of going home for a while before heading to the reception, they will just go to the room where the reception will be held.

  4. Often what happens is you have the receiving line in the front foyer of the church, and people can be directed outside after they greet you.  Most people know to do this anyway.  Have some volunteers (or cute cousins) at the front doors to pass out the bubbles. Then when the receiving line is done, you and your new hubby should appear in the doorway of the church so people can take pictures and blow bubbles and whatnot.  I've also seen it done where the limo or getaway car, whichever you've had that morning, is waiting at the curb, and the bride and groom actually go get into the limo so that pictures can be taken of this happening, and people blow bubbles as you go past.  Then after that posed picture happens, you can just exit the limo and head to your picture site, and your guests can move on to the reception.

BTW, just so you know, when the bubbles land on your dress it'll leave a ring that will NEVER come out.

  5. Since you are having your ceremony and reception at the same site the bubbles should be used after the reception.  Rice, birdseed and bubbles are typically used when the bride and groom leave to go on their honeymoon.

But they really are not necessary so you can skip them if you want, especially if you think you will be staying for the whole reception.
