Question:

I am having problems loading Switched on Schoolhouse - anybody?

A good friend of mine gave me Switched on Schoolhouse for 6th Grade so I could use the Science part she didn't. I can't seem to get it to load, and in reading the manual it says, "Load SOS and then load the subjects" Does this mean there is supposed to be a main disc that loads the program and then you load the subjects?

  1. You may not be able to re-use the program.  It may be a one-time user license for the software.  Check the fine print to see.

  2. I have never heard about that actually. Maybe that is true, about the main disc and the other one, check if google knows possibly.

  3. Yes. There HAS to be a main disk and the subjects. Maybe she didn't give you all the disks maybe? If all else fails I would call SOS. Good luck!

  4. You need the application disk that came with the program, from the same year, or a newer year.  Your friend should have the disk, or you might be able to find one on Ebay.  If your version is 2006, then you can use the application disk from 2006, 2007, or 2008. (Cannot use a disk older than the version you're using)  Or possibly find another friend who use SOS.  You don't need to keep it.  You only need to use it for the initial install, the paper sleeve it comes in also has a serial # on it that you'll need to enter.
