  1. A warm cup of milk with a spoon of honey or a chamomile tea, or maybe some lavender aromatherapy may help.

  2. get everything out of your mind and just close your eyes. If your having trouble sleeping maybe its a bad dream or just somthing really important in your mind. Or you can try listing 2 some calming music.

  3. I used to have a big problem with insomnia, so I have a whole bunch of suggestions. You can try a few of the methods below, and see what works best for you. Let me first say that with the stresses you have, you might want to talk to a counselor or therapist to get some input into how to resolve the issues you mentioned. On to the list!!!

Depending on the season, a warm bath with lavender oil or whatever oil is most soothing for you, is a great way to relax both your body and your mind. If you can’t take a bath, you can give yourself a foot massage with slightly warm oil, preferably sesame oil or castor oil.

There are herbs that are helpful for sleep, eg, valerian root, kava kava, chamomile, hops, passion flower, catnip. If you get the real herbs, you can make teas out of them. Otherwise get the herbs in capsule form. You can try a single herb or combinations of herbs. Probably, valerian root and kava kava are the best.

Trytophan or 5-HTP can help. I would avoid using melatonin on a regular basis. It is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. If you keep taking melatonin, your pituitary gland can get "lazy" and produce less melatonin naturally.

What was very helpful to me, especially when my mind was racing, was to lie in bed and listen to relaxation CDs, especially those that contain someone speaking with relaxing music in the background. Many of these CDs are available on eBay for very low prices.

A relaxation technique similar to meditation is relax your body one part at a time. So you could relax your feet, your lower legs, upper legs, moving up from your lower belly up to your chest, etc., etc.

Of course, guided relaxation methods can help, imagining yourself in the country, the beach, or whatever is most soothing to you.

If none of this c**p works, get a gun and go to a local drug store. Say to the cashier, "This is a stick up. Give me all the sleeping pills you have. Just do what I say and no one will get hurt."

  4.                   Drink a level teaspoon of turmeric in a cup of warm

milk at bedtime. It is not unpleasant or dangerous and works.
