yes. don't drink the water. or rather, don't sip from their cups. my friend got mono from doing that in tijuana.

also, avoid buying their beer - if you look closely at the bottles, they're don't look new at the top. that's because they collect bottles off the street, fill them with beer and sell them. it's to save money so new bottles aren't bought.

crafts are good to buy there - homemade dresses or embroidery, small art crafts, you know. try eating vegetarian there.

the whole North of the country is well dodgy.

not cos of the water, but the narco, kidnaps, executions etc...

let´s say draw a line where san luis postosi is from there to the south is cool, the north is a no go.
