Yes you will still get the point. My husband received a ticket in Louisiana with a California license. He ended up with the point. He was not able to do traffic school b/c he was leaving for Iraq.

If this is your first ticket in 18 months you should be able to do traffic school to avoid the point on your record and your insurance going up. You will still have to pay the fee for the ticket and the cost of going to traffic school.  Check to see if you can go to school online. Most counties these days, at least in Cali, are online.

I've never heard of a ' cath ' ticket ? What's a ' contraction zone' ?
