I am home alone with my son and there is a wasp in the house which I am allergic to... What should I do?

I don't have a bee sting kit right now either... Any suggestions?

Fire up your vacuum cleaner...stand back and suck it up-works every time.  I use this on spiders ants etc

Go grab your hair spray. When the bug has landed and calmed down a bit, go spray the heck out of him with the hair spray.

What is going to happen is this. The spray will instantly stop him from being able to fly. He can't fly, he can't sting you. Then you get a shoe when he's laying there squirming and tyring to be free of the hairspray hold (which he won't be able too), you squish him with a shoe.

Do this no matter who goes after the wasp. You can do it with just about any bug. I don't even use hair spray on my hair but i keep a can at home always. The cheaper the brand, the better. I like Aquanet for killing off the bugs! But any will do.

The odds of you getting stung while trying to swat it to the group are low. Knock it to the ground and kill it or have a neighbor come over and kill it. If you were my neighbor I'd take care of you any way I could!

Wait till' it settles on a wall or something and either get a container or news paper. Sneak up on it quietly and smash it with a rolled up news paper, or capture it in a container.

Or you and your son can stay in a room with the door closed and wait until your husband gets home so he can get the d**n thing.

Don't panic! Wasps outside their nests are not usually aggressive and do not care about humans. They won't sting you unless provoked. Even if it lands on you, so long as you keep still, you'll be fine. Just concentrate on breathing calmly. Leave the window open in the room where the wasp is and turn the lights off. They're attracted to light, and to flower and meat smells. If you're wearing perfume, wash it off. You might be able to tempt the wasp out by putting some lunch meat on an outdoor sill. Don't do this at midday though: you might just attract more wasps to your window, though the meat should keep them outside.

All the same, it is good to be safe. If the wasp is contained in a room, shut that door and keep yourself on the other side. Is there a neighbour you can call, or a friend? You could set up a thing where if you don't check in every so often, they will call emergency services.

Keep your phone with you. If you do get stung, call 911 IMMEDIATELY. Even if it doesn't feel that bad, call anyway: the effects of allergies can be unpredictable.

I'm allergic also,but im the one to always take care of the prob.smack it with a shoe or fly swatter,if you are allergic then there is a chance your son is too

Wow. Now thats not so good. You should leave your house with your son and maybe call your husband. Make sure you don't overreact with your kid near, it may scare him too much.

Go visit someone for a few hours until your spouse gets home.  And while you're out, get yourself a bee sting kit to have handy.  ^..^

Well get yourself out of the house obviously! Explain the situation to a neighbour or someone but you have to be practical here!

Get out of the house first of all and then decide who you are going to ask to help you tackle the wasp! But first of all get away from it!

There's no point sitting at the computer and wondering what you should do about the life-threatening situation!!! You get out of there and make your choice from a safe place!
