I am hoping to learn the electric bass and I need help.?

I am hoping to learn the bass but am on a limited budget, I would like to have any tips and advice you can give me. Also any tips for what the best make and model would be to buy for a total beginner.

They will probably say if you only have a limited budget then buy something second hand because you can buy better quality for your money rather than buying a budget bass brand new that only lasts a few months. Also have a look here: www.gumtree.com and choose your local area. Quite often you will find others who are selling their bass because they don't want to continue learning.

Another source of info and advice is your local music shop....not one of the big ones e.g. Dawsons but a local independent. Don't be shy because they will try to help and advise...after all, when you're a touring rock god (ess) they will be happy for your custom.

My son found a Fender on eBay for 15 quid, and he went to his local guitar shop and looked at titles of guitar lesson CD's and books, then bought them for half the price on eBay too.  

He was completely self taught, and now plays bass and electric in a heavy metal band doing really well...so good luck!!

This site will have tips for you as well as lessons which you can learn from. Great bass tabs as well available. They also have forums which you can ask which model would suit you.

Good luck and don't try to think you can't do it. I've been playing Electric guitar for a while now and after each day passes, I feel myself getting better and more flexible on the fretboard.
