  1. Up beat songs are good like Chirs Brown, Rhianna, Taylor Swift, any of the top pop songs and you can play a few slow songs too.  Maybe mix in a couple of eighties rock songs like Journey's "Don't Stop Believing", or something, and maybe a little Madonna or Brittany Spears.  Some 90's pop is good and fun too like the Backstreet Boys or 98 degrees.

  2. I think any good music will be nice, the lyrics have to be nice and catchy and maybe throw in a few slow ones that people like. Ask your friends to see which music they like and decide which ones to play. Make sure the songs dont have any swears or bad stuff, parents and coaches definitely do not like it. I've had experience with a coach angry at the music. Maybe a few good ones would be, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, and others.

the billboard hot 100 of course.

it depends what time you are dj-ing.

for nighttime you can use any song (especially from the billboard)  but make sure to get the clean version with no foul language.

for midday and morning use more 80's and 90's and some things from the billboard but nothing with any obscenity. this is the time of day when mostly children and their parents come to skate.

also look into itunes store for their 100 most popular songs. those are the songs that people are buying :P

  4. some slow things and some fast songs as well... upbeat popular songs are good, but dont just play the top one ten, because radio stations play those songs so often that by the time youve been skating round for the hours listening to them, your ready to strangle the dj.

but yeah, old favourites are good, dont just play modern music... the rink i used to train at used to have "flashbacks" where every 30 minutes or so they would put on an old song from the 60's or 70's, for the parents to sing along to... make sure you have some music for all ages, as well as some nice, slow songs if its a night session.
