  1. Yes.

st of all - I like to wear water skiing gloves, because after a minute or two up there your hands start to get really sore.  If you don't have them, that's alright too because I know people who don't even like to use them.

nd - while you're getting your skis on or waiting for the rope to get to you, don't struggle or move around too much; save your energy for while you're up there, and don't get frusterated if it takes a minute or two for you to get your skis on right.

rd - Once you have the rope, bend your knees and kind of wrap your arms around them, holding on to the rope out in front.

th - Let the boat pull you up, don't try to stand as soon as it starts moving.  This is probably the biggest thing that I've seen many many many new water skiers do wrong, and I even do it myself sometimes.  You'll just fall forward right away, because you won't be able to stand up until the boat has time to actually get you out of the water.

th - If you fall, DON'T FORGET TO LET GO OF THE ROPE! My little sister kept hanging on to the rope after she fell, omg.  We were dragging her through the water, facedown, until my dad finally realized and stopped the boat.

th - Don't be discouraged if it takes you a while to get up.  If you're a fairly athletic adult, it probably won't be too hard to get up in a few tries, but otherwise, it could take awhile, which is normal.  I think it took me 2 1/2 summers of trying before I finally got up and stayed up at age 9.

th - Have fun and good luck!

th - Can I come?

  2. Hey, that's cool! I just learned to water ski last summer! the trick is to keep your knees to your chest and your arms straight or locked when waiting in the water. once the boat starts to go, wait for the boat to pull you out of the water. if you try and pull yourself up when you get going, you'll fall. trust ME! and once you are up and clearly out of the water, then keep your knees slightly bent. To stear, you push your right foot down slightly to go left and vice versa. And if you fall, don't forget to let go! that was my mistake! lol! good luck!
