Im turning 18 this week. im really immature. even this guy i love says it. how can i be mature?

Learn and be more like the grown-ups around you.  If you haven't been to College yet, you'll see a big difference from High School.  Work on your manners.

I'm 23 and sometimes I still act like a 15 year old but people do notice that I act differently than when I was in high school and I'm learning to take things more seriously now that I'm graduating from college.

Give it time!  The fact that you want to change is fantastic.  When I was your age, I was so immature.  Here's some key points you need to know to be mature, and here's what I learned over the years:

1.  When you are mad and in an argument, pick your battles wisely.  Know when to walk away, before you hurt someone deeply.  Talk, don't raise your voice or insult.

2. Work on your self-esteem.  Those with more confidence, are more mature.  List 10 things you like about yourself and read them to yourself everyday.

3.  Don't worry about anybody else and what they think about you.  What matters is you, and if you are doing a great job, who cares about anyone else?

Just follow these, and hopefully that will help step up the maturity levels.  Just give it time, and you'll be more mature.  Good luck!

I would also add, stop trying to be popular and the centre of attention, adults need to be able to stand on their own, do their own thing and not follow what everyone else is doing.  It's alright to be different, now that might take some time to adjust to if you have been following the 'in' crowd at school.  But that was school, this is now real life.

IT TAKES TIME TO GROW UP SO DON'T RUSH IT ! IF HE THINKS YOU ARE IMMATURE ASK HIM IN WHAT WAY OR WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT YOU DO . THEN TRY TO CHANGE AND IF YOU CANNOT LIVE YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT TO LIVE IT !
