  1. This really depends on whether you want the fastest or cheapest options...

    Fastest (on a weekday) - train to Manchester Victoria, Piccadilly to London Euston, walk to Euston square tube (5 mins) to Paddington and then the heathrow express/connect from there.

    Alternatively, you can probably try to get a route via Reading (probably cheaper as you miss London, but much less convenient with a number of changes).

    To save cash, take the tube to Green Park from Euston and from there to Heathrow (takes over an hour)


  2. The recommended way is Bolton - Manchester Piccadilly - Watford Junction and then Virgin's rail Air bus link to Heathrow. If your Manchester to London train does not stop at Watford, it is advised that you travel on to Euston and return to Watford by a London Midland train.
