I am in a bind. I have a court date on friday but my lawyer says its covered under the chapter 7 he filed for?

me. He also says he mailed the court and informed them I filed chaptor 7. But I think there is still a great chance il be arrested by the lower court.

Ideas . comments?

You do not give many facts; however, if you committed a crime, the filing of a Chapter 7 liquidation will not stop/stay the prosecution of the criminal case.

The stay can only suspend the civil proceedings.

What state are you in?The lawyer should know what he is talking about.

I would think they would all be included in the chapter 7 ......Call the Clerk of courts monday morning and confirm it.Thats what I would do to be double safe.They will know how the procedure is done where you live.Make sure when you are doing all this you keep track of names and times called and conversations.
