I have STD symptoms (discharge, burning, lower back aches, etc.) and I'm going in for testing in 2 weeks.

Can I do anything to relieve the pains in the mean time?

  1. that sounds less like a big STI then a urinary tract infection.  In which case, you need to be seen ASAP because it will only get worse and spread up to your kidneys.  Ive gone weeks before without treatment and it wont kill you, but can become way painful.  Go to Planned Parenthood during walk in hours (or call ahead) and they can get you in before the weekend.  But trust me, dont wait.  Try taking some Tylenol or Ibuprofen regularly (like when you have a muscel strain) and you can get a topical (hydocortisone or Vagisil will help) for discomfort if youre burning or itching on your vag.  But do go as soon as you can.

  2. There is really nothing you can do, but stay away form scented soaps in the vaginal area, take baths when the burning gets to much and take some type of pain reliever for the back aches. good luck to you

  3. STD's are a serious issue. Depending on what you have contracted decides what action you should take. STD's work like an infection time 10. They affect every system in your body. You may want to consider getting tested sooner. The pain and burning you are feeling could possibly be assuaged by using heating pads and even vagisil products. The most you can do is treat it like period symtoms. I hope everything turns out ok. Good look till then. Peace and Love!
