I am really good at gymnastics but sometimes I just don't like doing it....but I do like to show how good I am. I really want to do tap! I haven't done it in a while and I'll have to learn all new steps. I'm just worried that won't be any good at it!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

PS. I'm kind of leaning towards Tap.

  1. If you are leaning towards Tap, then do it and give it a try.  You won't know how good you can be until you try it out.  So, go for it!!!

  2. I would think about what you would like  to be doing in the future.  The benefits of gymastics are obviously the increased flexibility.  However, if you truly love tap, do what you love.  You may regret it later if you end up in a class that you hate.

  3. stick with gymnastic that what my biggest regret i wish i would of stick with it everyone i know who quitted has all regret it badly

  4. Gymnastics will help with the styles of dance you do but with Tap it is kind of isolated from other styles. But it does help you with rhythm and ankle strength.

If I was you I would do Gym just because the tricks you can do are awesome lol but  I really don't enjoy it that much then go to Tap. Its your choice.

    I hope this helps :)

  5. If you don't LIKE DOING gymnastics, then do tap. You have to enjoy what you're doing. And not saying you dislike everything and anything to do with gymnastics, but if you don't enjoy it all the time, then maybe its time to do something new...like tap! Learn the new steps, go for it!

  6. Do tap! Tap is rapidly becoming a dying art form. :( Which is sad, because I loooove it. It's a difficult style of dancing and you should be proud if you know how to do it. Why do you think they don't do tap routines on shows like So You Think You Can Dance? Because it's not something you can learn to do easily in just a week.

Once you know the basic steps it gets easier from there! If you're leaning towards tap then do it! Follow your heart. And as long as you practice you'll be good at it. :)

And yea I'm not much of a fan of gymnastics either.

  7. Dance can certainly help a lot with gymnastics, but if you want to do tap it's your call. Ultimately it's your decision and no one on Y!A can tell you which to choose.

  8. If your doing gymnastics to show how good you are, I wouldn't do it.

Also, I'd say to follow your "instincts"... in this case they lead toward tap.
