This is not a question about Germany but about how to use the internet. There should be some link or button on the website to switch to English. Otherwise you have to load the sites over some english proxy server, but don't have a clue how to tell that your expensive toy phone and its webbrowser :-D

German web browsers do that, too. I'm a German having trouble with such things myself. You should set your browser's identification to English/US, and if that doesn't work, set the time zone to PDT. If that still doesn't work, blame the provider (with an iPhone, that's T-Mobile), and call their customer support. They can give you clearance and install a redirect to the sites you're used to.
