  1. Is that a real style name....wow...

Every fighter needs to improve his stand up game, the best way to do it is heavy bag training.  Nothing will smooth out your game like landing a few minutes worth of landing combinations on a heavy moving target, the kick bags are also great, you can add kicks to your combinations until the combinations are smooth and you are balanced.  The heavy bag is also a great workout.

A double end bag will help with timing, and punching straight, go with some smooth combinations.

Remember "slow is smooth, smooth is fast".

  2. Just train hard and often, and pay attention to detail.

If in doubt about anything ask your instructor.

    There are no shortcuts.

  3. that all depends on your rank. most of the time the best bet for improving at any level in any art is to practice and ask questions, no question is a stupid question

  4. well i take karate but practice makes perfect...practice at home and try to come to class more than usual if thats possible! Also make sure to ask your instructor how your doing and if theirs anything that needs improving.

  5. If you want to be better at Karate, then practice your Karate. There are no shortcuts.

  6. Dedicate yourself to the art that you practice. The amount of improvement is based on a person's desire to improve. Dedication is a key component to accomplishing this goal. If and then it feels too difficult then you must find the strength to persevere. There are no short cuts in training. Short cuts only lead to short changing yourself regardless of the style of martial art that you train in. So remember these three words desire, dedication and perseverance.

  7. Best thing you can do is to practice. Take your time don't rush through you techniques.   People say practice makes perfect.... I don't.

If you practice something incorrectly for 20 years you will get very, very good at doing it very wrong.  However, if you practice something correctly for a few years, you will get very good at it.

Best to practice and make sure that what you practice is being done correctly. If you are not sure wait and ask your Sensei before practicing it. Better to learn it correctly the first time rather than to struggle to correct a bad habit.

I see people making the same mistake over and over. They think that if they practice more often they will get better quicker. Unfortunately they often practice the techniques incorrectly so they only get better at doing it incorrectly. No amount of incorrect practice will fix the problem. Take your time and learn it right the first time.

  8. Watch the Karate Kid

  9. Practice.  That's the only way you're going to get better.

  10. Practice. Practice. Practice.
