The former regista of AC Milan has gone on to comment on life at Turin side, while also commenting on the Ballon d’Or nominations that have taken place this year.
There had been a lot of talk in European footballing circles of the chances of Andrea Pirlo having an outside chance of winning the Ballon d’Or; however, after the final three nominations have been made, the Italian midfielder has not been selected. The
players to have made the cut are Andreas Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. While quizzed on the topic, the former AC Milan midfielder was candid in his admission that he was not heartbroken.
He reminded the feats performed by these players and stated that after having such a massive role in the progression of their teams for the past year, they deserve to have their name in the final three. He commented that he was happy at being selected in
being shortlisted for the award. He was quoted to have said:

While reflecting on his time with the Bianconeri outfit, the player has gone on to state that for the time being he is enjoying what he does best, which is playing football. However, he went on to remark that he is not concerned about extending his contract
at the moment and stated that he still had more than a year left till the expiration of his contract.
While commenting on the issue at hand, he said that for the moment he is looking to make most of whatever he has had and stated that he would be looking to perform to the best of his abilities for the Turin giants. He was also quoted to have said:
“I’m in no rush to negotiate a renewal. I’ll just dedicate myself to what I enjoy – training and playing. Let’s see how things are when my contract has expired. I still have a year and a half left on my agreement.”
