Restricting means limiting the amount of food intake. Eliminating certain food groups. If consuming them, consuming them in very small amounts.

  1. i'm in the same boat.

don't focus on food so much. it's the simplest but hardest thing to do.

instead of thinking about what to eat, you could try thinking of what times to eat.

like for me, when i'm trying to eat healthier, i make a chart of times [7:00am, 10:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 6:00pm, 9:00pm] to remind me to eat a meal or snack around those times. its ALOT less stressful than just thinking about what foods to eat and counting calories and c**p.

so really all you can do is stop. but i know it's not as easy as it sounds. but just focus on why you're in recovery and make sure you eat breakfast lunch & dinner.

do you have a family member who can check up on you? also if you go to a therapist you could ask them cause they have alot better advice than i do lol.

    good luck

    kick anorexia's *** =]

  2. Just realize that you have tons of courage admitting you have a problem. Props for that one! Then realize that you are a beautiful woman who is entitled to a wonderful life full of joy and that you are enjoying that life each day.

  3. This is not a joke...just try it. Before you eat, close your eyes and hold your thumb and middle finger together with a little pressure on your RIGHT hand. While your eyes are closed think about the happiest times of life whatever it may be. Think about it so deeply....remember colors, smells, every detail of that time. Anytime you are about to eat, close your thumb and middle finger again and immediately those good thoughts will come to mind as soon as the fingers touch. Now you will have associated positive, strong memories with eating.

To stop restricting, do exactly the opposite. Hold your thumb and middle finger together on your LEFT hand and think about anything that is NON food related that makes you cringe or is just horrible. Think about it in such detail that it almost makes you sick. Now, you have associated something negative with the restrictive behavior.

I know it sounds crazy, but this REALLY works if you take it seriously. MIND OVER MATTER...our imagination is one of our strongest tools. :) I hope this helps.

  4. Try to remember whatever it was that made you want to seek recovery in the first place.  Also recall how you felt when you were at your worst.  Good luck.

  5. what does restrciting mean

  6. just stop. its the easiest and hardest thing to do.

  7. you need to look in the mirror everyday and tell your self that you are beautiful. your not going to be fat if you just eat somthing.

  8. As long as you exercise and eat healthy, you will be healthy and have an ideal weight. You definitely don't need to restrict calories or not eat. I'm sure you are already thin anyway. Restricting calories or not eating will only slow down your metabolism. If you want to have a fast metabolism eat five small meals a day instead of three large ones.
