I am in the Army and i have herd that we are getting New uniforms is that true or is that c**p ?

I have been on for a few years and i have herd some talk about new uniforms how true is that

ACU will be around for a while, however I am assuming you are talking about the new dress uniform. Its a spin off of the old dress blues and is now called the ASU "Army Service Uniform". One of the majer changes is that only Corperal's and up can wear the yellow leg stripe, as before everyone wore it on the old Dress Blues. Also there was talk on if they were going to allow the unit patch to be worn and the deployment overseas service stripes, not sure what happend with that.

Introduction in the Army Military Clothing Sales Stores should begin in fourth quarter of fiscal year 2007.  Introduction in the Clothing Bag should begin first quarter 2009.  The Mandatory Possession Date is expected to be fourth quarter fiscal year 2011.

A wear-out date for the Army Green Class A and White dress uniforms will be determined at a later date

The only uniform that is changing is the Class A & Dress Blues....they are morphing them into some combined uniform. Not sure when that will go into effect though.

The Army is replacing the Green Dress uniform with the Blues. In 2011, the Green Class A's will be retired and the Dress Blues will replace them permanently. New recruits will start appearing with Dress Blues in their initial clothing issue end of this year, but it will not be mandatory for all until 2011. So you can keep your Greens for another 2 1/2 years. Too bad I got out, I always wanted the Blues, but they were so pricey. Don't worry. You'll get it added to your clothing allowance. Take it easy. Hooah!
