I am in the process of buying a Laptop and I need some HELP with some questions.?

I would like to buy a new laptop. The problems I have encountered on my existing one are the basic ones...not fast enough, etc. But, I noticed that my main problem is that, with one of the programs I run, I constantly get the message that Windows has run out of Virtual Memory and is repaginating files (? if I remember the error correctly). What does this error have to do with and what should I look for in my new laptop so that I don't have those types of errors? I need the program for my job, so I have to stay with the program.

Also, what is a great brand that you really get great quality & package for the price? Any specific brand to stay away from?

well if this laptop is for your job and work then in my opinion speed is very important and price should take the back seat. I assume you would want the comp to last atleast 3-5 years so maybe buy a laptop that has atleast 3Gb of ram to handle the vista os and your program, with 250 Gb of hardrive to handle the files you might be doing, the video processing doesn't really matter unless you are a video editor. A laptop with these specs at stores like BestBuy should cost around 1300 MAX. i dont think that this price is outrageous at all.

in terms of brand i would go with HP, Sony, Toshiba, im not really a Dell guy but they do have great variety of colors

Download ccleaner its free and clean up ur computer.And about your laptop always choose from among Apple,Dell,Toshiba,Lenovo and Hp.Never buy any laptop which comes with 512 mb ram and original vista.One 1GB should be the minimum ram and for that dell is the best for ur money.Sony is good but it is d**n costly.

Well, this time dont clog the computer full of useless stuff. get a file cleaning program like CCleaner. As for a good price and Brand name, id go with HP. I went to Best Buy and Got my HP (with the Dual core and everything) for $550.

You need more ram to fix the virutal memory error. Look for 2GB, or even 3GB. I doubt you'll see those errors again with that much memory.

I suggest Dell of HP. Affordable laptops that are built to last.

Try to buy a Gateway (better than Vaio) with at least 4GB and 3.0 Core 2 Duo.
