  1. You don't need an accredited curriculum.  It's just not necessary - in GA or anywhere else.

    K12 *is* accredited - here's a link:

    http://www.k12.com/press__policy/in_the_...

Typically *schools* are accredited, *not* curricula.

Here's a good link about HS'ing in GA:

  2. im abt to be homeschooled for 10th grade too :) American school is the company i get my curriculum from

  3. Ashworth. It is 30 dollars a month. You get a real diploma, and they send you school based text books.

The highschool is regionally accredided, and best of all you don't have to worry about it being "credited" in georgia, becuase it is in georgia! =)

Any questions feel free to message me via yahoo: fuzyfritomizteto

  4. First of all, are you enrolled through a school district or a homeschool association? In SC there are also third option groups. HSLD can assist you with knowing the laws in GA.

There are many companies that sell homeschool textbooks. Your parents may also create their own curriculum. BJUP, aBeka, & Apologia are some of the more popular ones for high school. As a matter of fact, I am in the process of selling curriculum we used, 1st-12th. My daughter graduated last year. If I can be of help as far as specific subjects, just let me know. Wish you the best!

  5. Um, I'm pretty sure that in Georgia, the only requirement is that you register with aa church school. Go to HSLDA.org to look up your state's homeschool laws. Most of the time, homeschool curriculum materials are not accredited, but this is not a problem. Homeschoolers are getting accepted (and even recruited by) even the most selective universities in the country every year, and the numbers are growing. It doesn't matter that your homeschool wasn't accredited.

  6. Congratulations-you are in for a great adventure with homeschooling! I think you'd really enjoy Sonlight.com (request a free catalog)  and ALEKs math.

Check them out -both have great refund policies if you don't like them and Aleks math has a one-month free trial online.

  7. Georgia has no such requirements. You can see the laws here http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Georg... .

Aside from than that, the only thing that will be accredited by Georgia is whatever they actually offer, like http://www.gavirtualschool.org/. You won't be able to simply purchase an accredited curriculum--an accredited program has you using outside teachers who mark your work and all that.
