I am in yr 11 and i want to an audio engineering course and i need some help???

I want to make it in to the audio engeneering side of music industry...

What sort of school subjects would i need other than Music Industry...

PLZ HELP!!!.

  1. Science subjects would help with the technical side of it. Maths, physics and chemistry. Audio engineering requires knowledge of electronics and the physics of sound. Whatever computing and technology subjects are on offer would also be good.

    Perhaps it would also help to do music. Knowing about music theory and practice and learning to play an instrument yourself would be useful. However, year 11 may be too late to start secondary school music.

    I'd also recommend you get work in the industry. Even if it's unpaid - the point is to learn first hand. You might get paid work this way if it's going. You can probably get paid work "crewing" (stage, sound, lighting etc set-up and take-down) for events with local crew hire agencies. Even engineers do this work on the side for extra bucks or to stay in it. You also get free entry to concerts and to habg out back stage (though usually not with the performers) and free concert shirts.
