  1. for nepal the passport doesn't matter. but for your securty reasons it is better to carry IDENTITY CARDS.

    you should have legal identity once you step out from your house.

  2. Nope

  3. With a view to streamlining procedures and improving security, India and Nepal have agreed to tighten the existing system whereby Indian and Nepalese nationals travelling by air between the two countries are required to present photo identification documents to establish their nationality. A pruned-down list of admissible travel documents was introduced with effect from October 1, 2000.

    Indian citizens are required to be in possession of any one of the following documents while travelling by air between the two countries:

    * Valid national passport.

    * Photo identity card issued by the Government of India / any State Government or Union Territory Administration in India.

    * Identity card issued by the Election Commission of India.

    * Emergency Certificate issued by Embassy of India, Kathmandu to Indian nationals in case of emergent conditions.

    Children up to the age of 10 years do not require the above-mentioned documents for travelling between India and Nepal, by air.

  4. You do not need any passport if you are Indian citizen to visit Nepal.

    You just need Voter ID card or PAN card or other authorised identity proof to prove your identification as an Indian citizen.

  5. I don't think you need to carry your passport - i went to Nepal without any - but that was in 2000. do check with Nepal Embassy!

  6. You ofcourse need a passport, you just will not need a visa.

  7. Indian citizens do not need visas to visit Nepal, but they must carry certain types of documentation.  Your passport is acceptable, but they will also accept other documents, such as government-issued photo identification.
