    If you are NOT a permanent resident ( green card holder) in the U.s., you DO need a visa to visit Mexico. See 1st website below to see that India is on the list of countries whose citizens DO need a visa to visit Mexico. see 2nd site for list of Mexican consulates in the U.S. so you may apply for a visa.

    If you ARE a green card holder in the U.S., you do NOT need a visa to visit Mexico. See 3rd website and read 2nd paragraph under the list of countries to verify this.

  2. If you ae FLYING from the USA or from Canada (with stopover in the USA to change flights) you will need a Visa.  If you have both - take the one for the country of origin and return.

    You will get a temporary Tourist document which you receive and fill out on your flight into Mexico.  This will be stamped by Mexico Immigration and returned to you.  You must return this when checking into the Cancun airport for your return flight home.
