2-In winter, what do golfers usually do about golf? can they still play?

3-For practicing golf in an indoor place, do I need to prepare my own club and stuff that i need or I can just rent them?

4-Can I make money out of it also? Well I have a good job now and I already make money, I just wana see if it is possible.. if so, how much I can start making $$?

  1. 1> very expensive,,, clubs.. balls and just to golf is at least $20 a round... shoes.. its really a rip off unless you have a good time.

2>I dont know of any indoor golf courses.. thats why you should play tiger woods golf on xbox

    3>?

    4>doubt it.

  2. 1. A new set of of decent irons costs anywhere from $400 on up...greens fees, driving range fees, and lessons can also be fairly expensive.

    2. There are some courses that will stay open with limited winter hours if there is no snow on the course.

    3. It would be recommended that you use your own clubs. If you practice with rentals you will never be able to get a consistent feel from session to session.

    4. You can make money by betting on matches with friends, but you'll probably want to get in some practice before you try that...

  3. Depending on where you live, it can be reasonable to VERY, VERY expensive.  Here in the SF Bay Area - it is much closer to the $$$$$ area. (This is for the fees on decent courses.)  As for equipment - get yourself a used set at first.  Go with a putter, a sand & pitching wedge, and then just use the ODD irons 5, 7 & 9.  Forget about the 3, 4, 6, & 8 - you don't need them now.  As for woods, I suggest a hybrid (replaces the 3 & 4) a 5 wood and a 3.  Ignore your desire for a Driver...

Hit the range as much as you can BEFORE you step on to a course.  Practice a smooth, relaxed swing.  Don't even think about how far you are hitting it for at least three months of 3X per week on the range.

When at the range, use the higher number irons and wedges more than the lower numbers.  Your focus is control, not distance!

AND EVERY time you hit the range - put, put, put! - those days you don't hit the range, put some more.

In CA, we play winter golf in the low lands - just have to wait for the frost holds to end around 9am.

Can you make $$$ - if you are gifted, can practice like it is a job, then I suggest aiming for the Champions (Senior) Tour (in 20 years.)  BUT, at that point a guy named Tiger will also be eligible to play.

Like someone said earlier - you could make money sooner by hustling your buddies.

  4. 1. Depending on how serious you want to get into golf will depend on what cost you are prepared too fork out. If you were to be a weekend golfer then golf isnt expensive, you have a couple of intial pay outs, full set of clubs then finding a membership. After that your only up for comp fees and accesories (Balls, tees, gloves etc)... But looking at your 4th question I would say your in for some money spending.

    2. I have no idea Im in Australia and there is no such thing as winter golf here, to be honest I cant wait till winter gets here, at least we get into the high 20's (Celcius) temp and its comfortable to play.

    3. Most practise facilities will have their own practise clubs.

    4. Yeah you can make money, but at 30 your well out in front of the average age on tour... it will take a heap of time an effort to get to the money making stage... Failing that, if you happen to have level 3 coaching certificate you can charge for coaching lessons

  5. 1 - a decent starter set of clubs will run you about $500-$600, plus greens fees and cart rental, which each round runs about $80 where I live in NY

2 - In winter, some golfers cry (like me), or you can play at an indoor golf simulator.  Even better, you can travel to warm places to play

3 - You best bet when you are practicing is to use your own clubs.  Every set of clubs has specific features and different feel, so you want to use your own to maximize the benefit of the practice.

4 - you can make $$ if you have the time and $$ to spend 80 hours a week on the golf course practicing and taking lessons.  How about you try it and see if you really like it before thinking you'll join the PGA tour?

    Good Luck!

  6. 30 and just starting, you are going to need some lesions. I would start by going to Golfsmith or a local pro-shop and just swing a club or two. Talk to the staff, and get a lesion. See if it is something you are really interested in. Get a subscription for Golf and/or Golf digest. Spend a lot of time at the driving range before you venture out on the course.

    1. Golf is very expensive!!! Equipment; Clubs, balls, shoes, a bag, gloves, tees, $600 minimum. Driving range $4 - $10/ each time. Round of golf $20-$200/ each time out. I have spent, at least, $2500 this year, playing twice a week, and hitting balls one to three times a week. I play cheep courses, and I walk… mostly.

    2. Yes. There are indoor, simulator, golf places to play. $30 should get you a round. I really don’t care for simulators but … I also have a net and mat I hit balls into. I practice putting in the living room.

    3. Indoor golf places may have rental clubs. Call and ask before you go.

    4. Your not going to make any money at golf. OK, it may be possible but very unlikely. I would not start golfing to make money!!
