I am interested in a specialized globe. Do you think a 61cm would fit me if I am 6'1.?

I will be buying it used and wonder if it is even worth testing out if it is 61cm.

Thanks so much!

  1. Aaron,

Specialized frames tend to run a bit on the large size.  Go to the link below and click on "geometry" to get the full details on the Globe.  Pay particular attention to the standover height, which is 858mm on the Globe.

Your height alone doesn't give me enough information to answer this question, but it should be in your range.

In general, when you have a choice it's better to go smaller than larger when selecting a bicycle frame size.   When buying used, of course, your choices aren't as broad.  In the long run good fit is more important than a good buy.

I'm also including a link to Sheldon Brown's excellent article on frame sizing.

    Good luck, and happy riding.
