I am interested in getting an ELECTRIC AUTOMATIC GATE installed. approx costs, power to gate?

It doesnt matter if its a sliding gate or double opening. I am just after some approx prices for gate & also how much of a hassle & costs of getting power out to the gate. The gate is about 15 meters from the house.

The cost will matter if twin opening doors or a single sliding, cost will depend on the length of the run,  and the type of material used, fancy with caps on top to prevent someone from climbing over,  regular 1 by 1 inch steel tube, most comon used is one sliding door (gate) chain Eletric Motor, driven by a hand  remote like a garadge door opener, from $1,000.00 to $7,000.00 installed parts and labor, now it also depends on the inviorment you live in? on a hill ,the acsess to the - Your house , easy to get to ?  if in a remote place on a uneaven hill or something like that, it will cost according ok, good luck and get thee estomates and don't tell the persons estomating what the other company will do it for, keep that to your self, make sure the person or person (s) are bonded, licnsed , it can be a handyman but make sure he has a licnes ok, you also may need to get a permit from your city to do this, ok, ask you city building and saftey Department , what is if any permits needed to perform this task, if you don't get a permit and one is requiored you will get red taged and work halted by your cith till a approved drawing is requiored, and elect permit, you will need a electral permit for underground  wiring ok,

Costs are going to depend on where you live and what country you are in and as you havent stated either - it would be very hard to help you as prices will vary greatly worldwide

The only answer to your question is to find at least two/three companies who install electric gates and ask them for a FREE quotation. A good company should do the complete job i.e. run the electrics from your property to the gate area, provide you with gates that you like and you will have to decide if you want them sliding or opening. So you should end up with two/three written quotes each of which will do everything you require. You can then make your choice.

I think it will be really quite expensive.
