I am intrested in having a career in script writing but need help?

I have been searching on the internet about script writing and have read some examples but i wanted to ask some questions,

What would be the first thing i start doing? Do i right a script using a pencil or a computer? Is there any free programs that will help me with script writing? Can i use microsoft word? How Would i format it to look like a script? When i am finished what do i do so it will get noticed? Thanks.

I am a writer.  Writers write.  You must write to become a writer.  I know that sounds odd, but painters become good painters by painting.  Singers become good singers by singing.  If you are really to become a writer, you must read a great deal and practice your writing all the time.  Do you think that you will simply sit down one day and write a good script the first time out?  If so, you are dreaming.  You may hear stories of people who sell their first script, but believe me, you are more likely to be hit by lightning while riding a unicycle waving your winning lottery ticket.

You must practice.  You must write.  Write anything.  Write, read, write, study, write, erease, write, re-write and then write some more.
