My step-daughter in laws best friend is throwing her a shower 2.5 hours away from me. I think that is too far to drive, there and back, plus the 3 hours for the shower. I did not attend my daughter in laws shower as they live 1000 miles from me. I sent a box with some nice gifts, I plan to do the same for this situation. Does this seem ok?

  1. to send the box will be just fine.

it will be welcomed and appreciated.

not everyone that is invited to a shower attends!!!

  2. Yes,I was going to suggest that.Nothing wrong with sending something,it shows you care.

  3. If you are comfortable with it then let it be.

  4. Yes, that sounds ok.  It will show that you are thinking of them.  I think that's a great thought.

  5. It is all according to the relationship you have with your step-daughter in law.  If you treasure her friendship and care for her, then it would seem that you could drive the 2.5 miles to the place of the shower and after attending the party, stay at a hotel or motel over night and drive home the next day.  I am sure that she would appreciate your effort to attend.

  6. Sure. Why not. I send gifts to a shower even if I'm in the same town and can't make it. If you really wanted to be there you would. She does not mean enough to you to go for the shower. If it was your daughter you would go. I'm sure will at least make an appearance when the baby is born. That is good enough.

  7. Well ur friends will miss you.Dont you want to see the baby if he is born yet?You should try ur best to get there.Youll thank me later.
