How many two liters of pop should I buy and how many bottles of water should I buy. We are also providing beer, but they will have to supply their own liqueur. And my FMOH is buying Coke, Diet Coke, and sprite, should she get anything else? But I really just need a number of two liters and bottles of waters.

  1. I would buy around 120 2 liters. And around 650 or so bottle of water. More if it is outside...during warm weather. And have someone willing to run to the store if you need more. I would buy a larger variety of soda. An orange (kids love it), a decaffeinated also. Maybe a rootbeer. Just a little more variety. And as someone else said...is 325 the number that actually RSVPed? Goodluck!

  2. It will depend on how long the reception is and how many of  those 325 are actually coming (you said invited 325, so I wasn't sure if they RSVP'd yet - only 250 might actually come).

I would factor in two bottles of water per person, and one soft drink serving, per person, per hour. Even those that are drink beer or bring their own alcohol will probably want a soda or water by the end of the night. Not sure how many servings is in one two-liter soda bottle, so you'll have to do the math, but I would say that would be plenty.

Better to have extra than not enough. You can always use whatever is left over for after the wedding.

EDIT: I also agree with htchik. Cans might be better, and then not to sound cheap or anything, but you could collect them in bags and take them to the bottle center for your deposits back ... recycle and save money!

  3. it would be safe to say at least 1 bottle of water for each person and to be safe add another 50-100 bottles for save keeping!

as for the pop you figure 2-3 people can share 1 two liter so i would say at least 165  two liters of pop!!!

  4. You have to figure 8- 12 oz. of pop per one drink , that should include water too. Then how many beer drinkers do you have verses pop and water drinkers.I don't think you'll have to worry about coffee drinkers, they usually drink that much. It all depends on how thirsty they are you know you'll go through much more beer. Have fun.

  5. How about food?  First of all, approximately half will not attend.  So count on about 170 people to attend.  Figure two to three 8 oz glasses per person and then x that by the amount of people.  Then see in the bottles how many ozs there are.

  6. you would be better off buying cases of cans for the soda it will be easier in the long run and u can just throw them in a cooler of ice and for water I would suggest at least 10 cases of water.

  7. I would urge you to hire a bar for the day. It will be much cheaper to have soda on tap or buy it bulk than for you to buy it yourself. It also would eliminate all the pouring and empty bottles. Look in your Yellowpages and see about getting a bar for the event.

    Good luck!

  8. I agree that you are better off buying cans.  But if you figure that each person will have at least two drinks of pop while there, and a two liter is about 4 cups then you would need about 80 *oops* liters of soda.

That would be about $200.  If you go with the cans, it's about $7 for a 24 pack and you will need about 28 cases so it'll be roughly $200 as well.  You're better off getting the cans...especially since hygenically speaking it is much healthier.
