  1. He is the world's best rugby player, he determines the outcome through strategic kicking. He also scores most of the points. If Ireland give away penalties in their own half it is a guaranteed 3 points for England. Ireland will be forced to play safe and allow England quick ball which will put the English on attack.

Ireland will also come at England with all guns blazing, Wilko's cool head and almost superhuman kicking is probably the only thing that will keep Ireland at bay, Catt might be able to do just as well with his tactical kicking.

Wilko also gives the England team confidence, and with that quick ball our backs could wreak havoc.

England are not a one man team, but with re-building and a confidence crisis Wilko inspires them to do what they already know how. Once they get their groove back he won't be as important, although he'll still be the best.

Good luck to Ireland, and may the best team win.

And at Croke park lets remember what our grandfathers said.    Forgive but never forget.

  2. I think he can, potentially, even if it's just the fact that he is playing and has a rep, so he'll freak out the Irish.

    Personally I'm hoping he won't...

He's been badly injured in the past, so you never know...

    C'mon Ireland!!!

    CG.

  3. no we are not a one man team...however to bet you paddys we are gonna have to rely on penalties..i think your dicipline will let you down and we will win 18- -15

  4. if you are a true rugby supporter than you will know. Johnny Wilkinson is rated as one of the best five eight rugby has ever produced. His left boot has punished opponent after opponent. He has a unique style of kicking whilst his accuracy is amazing. If the Irish want to win, they have to maintain their discipline coz if they do not than Johnny will punish them.

  5. He is as good as the quality ball he gets.....

IF they put pressure on him ...he wont be a factor in the game...

If I were you Irish ... I would Hire a guy from the IRA and send him up for the first ten minutes .....and take Johny Wilkinson out even if it means a red card ....

  6. The easiest way to say it is that Johnny Wilkinson is the England National Team. He scored 24 points for them in the RWC 2003 semi-final against France. He made about 3 drop kicks and 5 penalty kicks. The only time that he isn't dangerous is when he is injured, or recovering from injury as he is currently. He probably won't be as lively but he is still an incredible kicking machine.

  7. HE is Englands second GOLDEN BALLS

  8. he is very good with drop kicks and conversions. he can also run well with the ball as he is agile. the one bad thing is that he gets injured regularly

  9. im english but live in N/I so while I can relate to both I havent a hope in h***s chance of being able to say I havent the foggiest when it comes to sport lol

  10. No team are a one man team, there are 22 players in a Rugby Union Squad including the substitutes.

But to answer your two questions, Yes Wilkinson is a good player albeit an injury prone one, yep I know all the Kiwis on here are gonna say Dan Carter Dan Carter all hail Dan Carter, but consider this, Wilkinson came back onto the international arena against Scotland after continuous injury over the last four years ( a total of nine different injuries or illnesses,) and having played very little club rugby and put in a brilliant performance, there are very few professional players that can do that, in any sport, Yes he's good, he's getting better and if fate allows him to continue wont even peak for a few more years.

Can he make a difference, Yes any good player will make a difference, what you must also consider is the position that Wilkinson plays, the number 10, stand off, fly half call it what you will is a pivotal player as far as the tactics of the game are concerned, it is off of this position that the direction of play and and tactical game plan is launched, this is the position, along with the number 9 that provides the tactical link between the forwards and the backs, they are the tactical headquarters if you like of the playing team.

In the Ireland France game ( a game that Ireland could and should of won) O'Driscoll was missing, does that mean that Ireland are a one man team? no probably not just that O'Driscoll is a good player, and captain who is better able to direct and rally his team than any current possible replacement, England used to suffer the same when Martin Johnson used to be injured.

You should really watch the game outside of National events it's a good game, the best there is for sportsmanship, both on and off the field, it takes a bit of time to get to grips with the rules and the tactics of the game, but there is more to it than chasing a ball around, and Ireland have some good club sides, all that said have a good game today.

  11. Yes he gives England that extra advantage, and was badly missed when he was injured, just look at the results.

  12. He was good. He was the best at what he does...but he is nowhere near that now.

Robinson is their best player and I dont think hes playing.

  13. he is questioned through injury!

but 1 player should not make you feel threatened anyway!

    Should it?????????????/

  14. to be honest at the moment yes but the confidence is coming though i do think the irish will be too strong just at the moment!
