I can see it now, all the fundies would be jumping on the bandwagon and blaming Obama's liberal ideas for raising his children with bad family values.

This woman was a part of a movement of an independent party to have Alaska become Independent from the rest of the United States a couple of years ago.

This is going to get little to no coverage from the media, who is owned by Right wing organizations by the way.

Obama makes a trip to Kenya and has a couple of pictures taken, and people are still questioning if he will sign over the county if he is elected.

The coverage is biased and Republicans are the lowest of the low when it comes to taking what they regularly dish out.

I'm just sad that the Democrats are so wimpy when it comes to battling this group.

It's sort of funny, because the republicans are actually using this to talk about how much MORE moral their family is...

How many McCain supporters have we seen on TV today who have said, "Actually, this makes me respect them MORE..."

It's like watching a bunch of hillbillies, I swear...These people are unbelievable.

Now I'm not saying that I disrespect Bristol Palin's decision, or that I think she's not moral. I do respect the decision she made, and I respect her family for standing behind her.  What I'm talking about isn't a judgment of Bristol Palin.   I don't think that that girl's personal problems should be put out there for any of us to judge.  What ticks me off about this is that the republican ticket is using this situation publicly to tout their morality, which forces us into a position to judge it.  And Sarah Palin is a staunch advocate for abstinence-only education, which has been a program that has been proven a dismal failure, and her own family is yet another glaring example of what a failure it is.  It forces us to confront her with, "Well, a lot of good abstinence-only education did your family now, didn't it?  How can you tell me that our children shouldn't be properly educated on how to protect themselves from pregnancy?"

So I guess their idea of teaching morality is to get your teen daughter knocked up, and then refuse to let her have an abortion and brag about how you're going to "take responsibility". How about this for a morality lesson...teach your daughter how to PROTECT HERSELF from pregnancy, so she can grow up, get a good education, get married, and THEN have a baby when she's really ready? THAT'S the responsible thing to do.

Absolutely.  The hypocrisy of the "family values" crowd who are supporting Palin on this is astounding. Palin and her daughter are paying the price for "values" that advocate pre-marital abstinence and oppose teaching youth about safe s*x.  She apparently was too busy furthering her career to instill her family values on her own daughter.  They'd be all over Obama if he had a pregnant teenage daughter.

Armychic- We know how Palin feels about abortion under any circumstances since she said she would not even support her daughter's right to get an abortion if she were raped. Her daughter was 13 or 14 when she was made a hypothetical rape victim to push her mother's agenda.

Of course now she wants her daughter to be "off limits".
