  1. I think you're on the right track by questioning why you should play.  Frankly, if you don't feel the desire to play then it's going to be an uphill struggle at best.  Don't waste your money.  Maybe you could borrow a guitar from a friend and try it for a while.

  2. I'm just now learning myself and it's something that you have to grow a passion for because it takes a h**l of a lot of practice.  Kramer guitars are great as an acoustic and electric (all in one).  It has an input for plugging into your amp.  These guitars sound very nice played either way.  Nylon strings are easier to learn from than the steel ones.  You can switch to steel when you're a bit more advanced.  These are just my 2 cents.  Playing the guitar is such an escape.....for me anyway.....Good luck!

  3. It is a good idea because it is a great instrument to be able to play at any age, and it allows for lots of creativity. Plus, what is cooler than playing the guitar? There are so many songs to learn as well. You should probably start with a cheaper starter guitar, and I would go with the Cascade DC-25 which is about $199.00, and as you get better, a great guitar is the tanglewood. I use it and it is an amazing instrument.
