I am leaving for a trip to Nassau, Bahamas what to do?

Tell us cool places to go , beautiful beaches that are not tourist sites, restaurants anything cool we are looking for something new and interesting not tourist like!

I haven't been yet but I think most everything is touristy.  I am going in June and I have done a lot of research.  I am staying at Atlantis and you should definetly take a look there, theres ton to do and see and check out the One and Only Club, parts of the last Bond movie was filmed there.

Nassau is a tourist area so you won't find much that's not geared towards tourists, but it's a beautiful tourist area!  

Nassau is a great place to shop and the nightlife is alot of fun.  The beaches where the resorts are located are beautiful - you don't say where you're staying, but take a visit to Atlantis if you're not staying there.   It is gorgeous!  The beaches are vast, you can certainly find a secluded spot if you're looking for one!  The restaurants are wonderful, to grab a quick bite to eat, it's great to just eat at one of the pool bars.  Around the front and across the street from Atlantis is Marina Village - Bimini Road is my favorite restaurant there.  Its a fun caribbean restaurant with great food, entertainment and a beautiful view of the harbor where the yachts park.  

Check out a day excursion on a boat for a tour and a fun day of beaches, snorkeling, and sunning - the tours are excellent.    

Dolphin entercounters are fun at Atlantis as well - check them out  - they're a blast!

If you stay away from Atlantis and Paradise Island, you can find more cultural spots to enjoy.

Arawak Cay's Fish Fry for authentic food,  Beaches at Montegue Beach (fort montegue).  There are 3 forts to explore and plenty of beachfront along Bay Street.

Ask your taxi driver to drop you at Nesbitts for a drink and burger.. and then head across the street to the park and native beach.
