  1. Mike,

Relax....Take a deep breath. You have started a great adventure. Pace yourself....In today's economy you understand that you will need a post-graduate degree.

The fact you have made it this far should provide you comfort that success follows success.

Walk around the campus a few times. Meet as may people from as many backgrounds as possible. You never know where your interaction will lead you.

Prepare to study two plus hours out of class for every hour in class. Do the required reading. Consider taking the optional courses offered in note taking, test preparation and reading assistance. These are usually one to ten hours and will provide you valuable information that is likely significant for your Campus.

If allowed obtain a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. All will be essential over the course of semester one.

Neither alcohol nor drugs have ever been found to be helpful on campus. You have a lifetime to be stoned and stupid. Complete school first. Avoid/minimize contact with ALL who disagree with this assessment. NO GRADES ARE GIVEN FOR PARTYING 101 and the drugs given to enhance performance by letting you stay up late and study are self defeating. If you got to take something try Ginko

Bilba which has been proven to improve blood flow including circulation to the brain. Also a good vitamin supplement might be considered.

Take your time in getting to know your roommates and all friends. ALWAYS BE CORDIAL AND FRIENDLY. Do not make fast assessments....

If you need to buy a laptop buy one with a 13" or 14" display if you will be carrying it around. Lighter is better. Have a very good protective case as it will get stepped on, pushed off counters, left inadvertantly in precarious places.

Enjoy the experience and use this opportunity to explore areas never before available to you. Do not be afraid that you do not know your major. Since your will need a graduate school, your selection of a major is non-critical.

You are in an envious position. Use it and enjoy it without reservation or hesitation.

You do not need luck because it is evident you have talent.

    NOTWITHSTANDING....GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. from a lot of the lists that i looked at people often forget cleaning supplies and first aid stuff. You would have to put a list of things you already have.
