I am likely to get offered a basketball scholarship to USA?

Can anyone tell me about the pitfalls of uni life over there.I am Australian and dont really know what important issues I should consider.Is it possible to earn a small income whilst studying and playing?,accomadation?.potential nightmares?

If you are an NCAA scholarship athlete, you cannot hold a job or earn money.
