  1. If you are U.S citizen. You can travel anywhere in the world and stay for as long as you like (ahh the perks of being an American) without a visa.

However, since the US is hated around the world..maybe it wouldn't be a good idea (the burden of being an American....lol).

Just go to the british embassy of where ever you are they'll give you details. If you are from a country under their list of people who illegaly immigrate you might have some trouble obtaining a visa. Good luck to ya.

  2. you suck it up

  3. Anybody can get in here. But when is the US going to let us British into your country ? We are just about the only nation on earth that is not allowed in your green card lottery. Best friends- I think not. Anyway we are full up with the whole of eastern Europe, and the place is turning into a h**l-hole.

  4. Ordinarily, U.S. citizens, traveling with a valid passport, are not required to obtain a visa to visit the U.K.; however, my daughter was denied visiting privileges in the U.K. when the person examining her decided that she was coming into the U.K. to visit her fiance and it was determined by the examiner that my daughter did not intend to return to the U.S. She was allowed to remain in the U.K. for five days. Her passport was confiscated until she appeared to retrieve it and return to the U.S.

In order for her to return to the U.K., she was required to present herself at the U.K. Embassy in Los Angeles, California; along with documentation from her fiance that he would be responsible for her welfare while she was in the U.K. He also had to send a certified copy of his birth certificate, a letter from his employer, and bank statements from his bank attesting to his financial status. The process took two months.

My daughter is now married to her Englishman, lives in Northhampton, and is gainfully employed. She is a summa *** laude college graduate, with a degree in Accounting, and has U.S. certification as a CPA.

If you claim Political Asylum, you might get your visa quicker!

here is the legal answer for you :

Do I Need A UK Visa

You asked if a national of United States needs a visa to come to the UK as a visitor.

    # No, you do not need a visa.#

On arrival in the UK you must satisfy an immigration officer that you qualify for entry to the United Kingdom as a visitor under the Immigration Rules.

    Students

Please note that if you are allowed to enter the UK as a student for up to six months, you will not be allowed to extend your stay unless you arrived with a student or prospective student visa, or are studying on a course at degree level or higher. The Home Office will charge you a fee for applying to extend your stay.

If you entered the UK as a visitor, and you are still in the UK as a visitor, then you will not be allowed to switch to student status. This is due to the Immigration Rules Change that came into effect on 3 April 2006.

Please read Guidance - Visitors for further information. Your sponsor, if you have one, may want to read Guidance - Sponsors.

N.B. Even though you do not need a visa, if you have previously been refused a visa for, or entry to, the UK you may want to apply for one to find out if you qualify for entry before you travel. Please contact Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York for further information.

If you are applying to our visa sections in the USA, you can now make your application and pay online though the visa4UK website.http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/servlet/UKVisa...
