go to www.realtor.com and click on rentals. Many people are using it now to rent

Try contacting your local section 8 or hud office to see if you qualify for any type of rental assistance.  If you don't qualify for those programs, try calling apartment communities in your area to see if they have affordable or section 42 housing.  These programs are set up for people who have too much income to qualify for low income housing, but not enough income to pay market rate.  

You can also try looking in your local newspapers or visiting www.craigslist.org to find rentals in your area.  Good luck :)
