  1. You don't mention if the tub is steel, cast iron, or ABS plastic. In cases of a steel or cast iron tub, you can safely use "Greased Lightening" for the stains, mold, etc. and either CLR or Lime-Away for the rust. Abrasives (such as Comet) as a last resort. Don't use an abrasive cleaner on an ABS plastic tub, however you can use the other 2 products that I mentioned. If the above methods don't work, and the tub is steel or cast iron, the tub can be re-glazed with a new 2-part porcelain coating. There are do-it-yourself kits available, however, this is best left to a company specializing in bathtub refinishing. It's usually not that expensive, and is a good remedy for your situation as opposed to outright replacement.

  2. Spray it with bleach.  Then rinse it with really hot water.  Then fill the tub with water and a good sized dose of Oxyclean.  Let it soak overnight.  Rinse and be thrilled with your sparkling tub.

  3. Try Brillo Pads they clean rust and pretty much anything you scrub very well Good Luck

  4. CLR is awesome!

  5. I would scrub it the best I could with Comet and either live with it or have it re-coated. I'm told it's only about $200 to do a full sized tub. If you choose to have it re-coated, be sure to ask for how to clean it so that the coating doesn't come off before its time.

    Good luck!

  6. Tub liner companies will cover the tub with an all new finish for reasonable pricing otherwise scrub scrub scrub

  7. A product call ZUD will take out any mineral stain from bathtubs ect. It's a powder in a can like any bathroom cleanser.

  8. bleach.

    lots of bleach

but u sound like it needs a whole new bathtub ^^

  9. bleach for the mold

comet or ajax for the rust and stains.

If the tub has mildew I would consider getting a new one. It may just have lost all it's protective coating.

  10. It sounds like an old iron tube that has been enameled inside of a huge oven, not unlike a kiln for taking pottery through it's various stages of bisque and the glazing process. It's pretty much like a car body- at least the first 1/8' or so. Just bondo the bad spots and have it specially painted through an epoxy process of applied ,powder coating, kind of a process. You gotta google tile painting, or something-that's your best resort. Otherwise it will offend the eyes for many years to come, if its' really bad, which I generally tend to assume things are.
