I am looking at re-pointing my Tiled Roof. I need to know what to use, If their is a specific product i should use, And it's cost..

Also, if anybody has done this before, a little instruction!!!

I am a handy person, so i don't believe it's out of my capabilities!

  1. Theres two products I'd recommend.

    The first is called 'Tilepoint', it's a pre-mixed, coloured, flexible pointing compound. You first bed the ridge in a good mortar mix, and then finish the edges and faces with this. This gives a good bed and strength, as well as flexibility.

    The other is a new product from Selleys called Pointworks. Pretty much the same thing.

    Tilepoint is available at Bunnings, and Pointworks will be available there soon. At the moment its only at specialist roofing/tiling stores.

    The Tilepoint site has some good pointers on how to re point.

    Basically you scrape out the old surface mortar/compound, repair and fill in any holes with a good mortar mix, (using Bondcrete to strengthen wouldn't hurt), and finally finish with the pointing compound.

    Easy to explain, but time consuming to actually do. Good luck with it.
