Thank you so much.

  1. Well if you are a parent you should have been given rights when your child was evaluated. If you were not given a copy of your rights the law was broken.

  2. It's called IDEA and can be found at: http://idea.ed.gov/explore/view/p/,root,...

    Hope this helps

  3. Type in your state and "Parent Rights Special Education."  A problem with that is that not all states refer to it as Special Education. I would try to find the federal special education office, too. They may have some great links.

  4. www.wrightslaw.com

has lots of legal information, case law and advocacy information as well as putting the law into practical understandable terms and case studies.

  5. If you are a parent, the childs teacher is required to give you a copy of your rights at least once a year.

  6. The law is called IDEA 'individuals with disabilities education act'

    The best site is wrightslaw.com

THey have the ACTUAL law so you can download it. Here's the link -

    http://www.wrightslaw.com/idea/law/FR.v7...

There are comments included to explain the changes that were made to this law in  2004.

The laws are VERY complicated and in working with schools you really have to know what you are doing.
